Initial feelings are the beginning.
Thomas discovered his passion for mime in high school after watching an animated play by the legendary Marcel Merceur. Inspired by Marceau’s art, Thomas realized he had found his calling and immersed himself in the world of imitation.
Ten years later: Summer retreat with Marceau
Ten years later, Thomas, now a theater student at Wayne State University in Detroit, had a golden opportunity that would change his life. Marcel Marceau lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Thomas took the opportunity to hone his skills under the guidance of accomplished imitators.
Upon his return, Marceau, who admired Thomas’ talent and devotion, extended him a surprising invitation. Thomas was invited to attend the prestigious Marceau International Mime School in Paris, France. It was a pivotal moment in Toma’s artistic journey, as he packed his bags and headed to the City of Lights to immerse himself in a rich tradition of imitation.
